Val Verde County will continue its voluntary cleanup through June 24 focusing on Cienegas I and Cienegas II areas including Chapparal Hills and Cienegas Terrace Division. Watch Out For Slithering Snakes In Summer Texas
Snakes, especially rattlers, are common in Texas and sighted recently around Del Rio. NPS spokeswoman Deborah Nordeen notes snakes become more active from late May to June, moving up to three miles from their den, with births in September and Diamondback being the prevalent species across the region.
