The New York stock market showed little change with the Dow Jones 90 industrials up 0.27 at 1,074.46 by noon. Gainers and losers were roughly even among NYSE issues, as credit rates fell sharply Friday and long term Treasuries gained about $5 per $1,000 in face value.

Demetrio R Flores 59 died Sunday in Val Verde Memorial Hospital he lived at 906 Rio Grande St. Rites set for 3 p m Tuesday at Templo Tabernacula with burial at Oak Lawn Memorial Park under Humphreys-Doran Funeral Home. San Felipe Del Rio Honor Guard to give military honors at graveside. Prayer service 8 p m tonight at the funeral home chapel. Flores born Dec 22 1926 in Del Rio. survived by wife Cecilia and children Belma Arista David Daniel and Mario. grandchildren Luis Demetrio Urista Jo Samantha Flores. mother Fermena Flores and brother Nieves Flores. Charles Orville Keese 59 former Del Rio resident died Friday in Lamar Ark where he lived. Rites Tuesday 10 a m in Bandera Texas. Burial Oak Lawn Cemetery Medina Texas under Grimes Funeral Home. Keese born Aug 18 1928 in Medina. survived by wife Gwen Keese of Lamar sons Charles Wayne Keese Dallas and Louis Keese Del Rio daughters Teresa and Pamela Keese of Del Rio.
Gail Key Parsons age 69 died this morning at Val Verde Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She lived at 2 Meadow Lane and graveside services are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Oak Lawn Memorial Park, with Rev. Carl Rohifs officiating. Burial by Humphreys-Doran Funeral Home. Parsons worked 25 years for the City of Del Rio in the Tax and Utilities Departments, retiring December 1972 with a certificate of appreciation. Born December 26, 1916 in Parish Alabama, she moved to Del Rio in the mid-1930s to work for radio personality Rose Dawn, later employed by Edwards-Graham Insurance and the Texas Highway Department. She married Chester N Parsons August 3, 1937. Survivors include Chester of Del Rio, daughter Diana Champagne of Omaha, grandchildren Brady Champagne of Omaha and Celia Champagne of San Antonio, mother Mrs. J D Key of Weslaco, and brothers Bruce Key of Weslaco and J D Key of Mercedes.

OSHA data show Texas pays $350 per worker killed and that as few as one in four Texas contractors follow federal safety rules. Texas ranks worst for construction safety among states under OSHA, with California and New York cited for addressing hazards differently. Industry leaders acknowledge high fatalities and urge improved training and enforcement, noting even a single death is unacceptable.
