Texas faces high construction fatalities and lax safety enforcement
OSHA data show Texas pays $350 per worker killed and that as few as one in four Texas contractors follow federal safety rules. Texas ranks worst for construction safety among states under OSHA, with California and New York cited for addressing hazards differently.
