R Marlin Perkins, longtime host of Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, died at 81 in St. Louis after a two year cancer illness. A leading zoologist and naturalist, Perkins narrated TV shows from Lincoln Park Zoo to Zoo Parade and Wild Kingdom, earning four Emmys and other honors.
