The Dow Jones industrials climbed 36.06 to 1,874.19 in a broad market rally. It marked the biggest point gain since April 16 and the eighth largest ever. The index still posted an 11.71 point weekly loss as advances slightly outpaced declines on the NYSE by about 3 to 1.
