New Facility City Breaks Ground In Chihuahua Area
After a year of planning the Chihuahua Neighborhood Facility moves forward with a ground breaking ceremony led by Mayor Alfredo Gutierrez Jr. on a vacant Las Vacas Holming street lot. The project aims to serve about 6000 low to moderate income residents with health social and recreational services and to relieve overcrowding at the existing center. The plan originated in 1978 with a HUD grant application and a 15 lot land option secured by city officials.
