Cyclist Survives Near-Fatal Motorcycle Crash
Odessa cyclist Donald Kuykendall was treated for a scalp laceration and abrasions after a late night crash 18 miles north of Comstock on State Highway 163. He was admitted at 1 40 p m Saturday and released Sunday from Val Verde Memorial Hospital. Deputy Chuck McNeal said the motorcycle left the road, damaged about 55 feet of fence, and Kuykendall was riding with a group when the accident happened two miles south of Bakers Crossing.

Missing Boy Found After Long Search
A 16 year old Comstock youth, Jesus Velaway, wandered nearly 44 hours in western Val Verde County before being found west of the railroad high bridge around 7 30 p m Sunday by Deputy Sheriff Chuck McNeal. He lives on the Bob Hoberson ranch near Comstock and was reported missing Saturday night. He was thirsty hungry but in good heart upon return to his home as Border Patrol and a Texas Highway Department officer aided the lengthy search.

Hernandez was arrested around 1 a.m. Saturday near a restaurant on South Main Street after police found a baggie of marijuana in his sock.
