Communications Properties Inc agreed to buy TSN and two Fort Worth stations KFJZ and KWXI FM from Texas State Network Inc for 3.8 million in cash and notes. Stan Wilson will head the TSN subsidiary. FCC approval is required. TSN serves 125 affiliated stations across TX OK NM and is known as The Voice of the Dallas Cowboys.

Slow soaking rains extended through Sunday with 30 to 60 percent chances for more showers and thundershowers into Tuesday. Heavy runoff swelled Devil's River and the Nueces across Kinney and Edwards counties, closing Low water crossings on R M 674 and Texas 334 while Comstock and Rocksprings reported several inches. A tornado was seen south of San Antonio and northwest of Borger with hail near Amarillo as temperatures hovered in the 70s.

Frank W. Sharp pleaded guilty to two federal counts in Houston alleging false bank entries and selling unregistered securities. The SEC says he used loans to state figures to buy stock and profit, involving Gov. Preston Smith and House leaders. sentencing set for 2 p.m., up to five years or a $5,000 fine per count.

Cindy Villarreal of Del Rio left with relatives for a three week trip to Cincinnati New York and Canada as a graduation gift. Del Rio High School Band calendars orders run through July 1 to fund band projects. Aristotle's Metaphysics Book III Chapter 12 will be discussed Tuesday at 7 30 pm in Val Verde County Library led by Mrs Sparks Rust Sr and Mrs Clyde Bradley.

Hospital administrator Richard Reardan told the Val Verde County Commissioners Court the new city county ambulance service faces staffing and collection challenges. He reported slow ambulance billing progress, crews working 24 hours on and off, and early operation data including 21 calls in 12 days, with seven non emergency transfers. The court also refused to reduce the 10 percent retainage on the Val Verde Memorial Hospital project despite raised concerns about humidity control and wall sweating.

Judge to settle issue in Austin desegregation case
A longtime Lyndon Johnson ally accuses federal officials of merely shuffling bodies in a mass busing plan to desegregate Austin public schools. Donald Thomas represents the Austin School District before Judge Jack Roberts, defending a plan to desegregate about one third of the time while integrating Mexican American and Negro students across all 75 schools.
