The New York stock market moved higher with broad gains as inflation and trade news improved. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 15.93 to 2,978.08 at 11 a.m. on Wall Street, with 929 stocks advancing, 400 declining and 301 unchanged on the NYSE. volume reached 62.99 million shares.
The Del Rio News Herald publishes Monday to Friday afternoons and weekend mornings with a second Wednesday edition. Seguin resident Jack Kenny Schmidt was sentenced in federal court on Tuesday to one year in prison after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to illegally transport aliens and three counts of illegal transportation of aliens and aiding and abetting.
