Tornado injures Plainview residents and damages homes
A tornado struck Plainview Texas injuring four people and damaging about 200 homes. Most injuries came from flying glass as hail and heavy rain accompanied the storm. A separate tornado touched down near Stratford seven miles southwest of the city, with no reported damage. Hale Center reported winds to 70 mph and hail in the same weather system.

Shahan Named STCC Director in San Antonio
Happy Shahan of Brackettville has been named a director of the South Texas Chamber of Commerce by president WiL Hamil of Corpus Christi. He leads tourism promotion efforts and chairs the regional tourism committee planning area wide conferences in New Braunfels and Corpus Christi.
