Traveler Survives 28 Foot Fall Near Pecos Canyon Rest Area
70 year old Orange resident C B Procell walked away from his car at Pecos Canyon rest area 18 miles west of Comstock late Monday night to stretch and ended up at the bottom of a 28 foot cliff. He sustained multiple abrasions contusions and a fractured elbow and remained hospitalized at Val Verde Memorial Hospital. Deputy Guadalupe Medina said he was found at about 7 20 a m by U S Border Patrol agent John Ketzler after being dropped off the cliff around 11 p m to 1130 p m.
