Grand Jury Indicts Eight Here in 63rd District

The 63rd District grand jury Tuesday returned eight indictments, District Clerk Emma Stewart said. Five indictments were for felony theft, two for defrauding by obtaining things of value with a worthless check, and one for driving while intoxicated, subsequent offense.

Dies Early Today: W F Humphreys 77

William F. Humphreys a 77 year old retired grocer died at 2 a.m. in a local hospital. Services set for Thursday at 5 p.m. in Doran Chapel with Rev. Milton Bohmfalk officiating. Burial in Oak Lawn Memorial Park. Born March 22 1890 in Martindale Texas he came to Del Rio in 1916 and owned part of The Border Grocery. Survivors include his widow a daughter a brother two sisters and four grandchildren.
