Val Verde County Library hosts The Story Hour on Thursdays from June 6 to August 15 with Mrs. Vicki Bartell supervising. First session runs 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for children 4 through 6th grade, with age-grouped activities.
The Del Rio Board of Equalization, three appointed property owners, will convene Wednesday at 8 a.m. in the Municipal Building to determine fix and equalize taxable property values. Tax Assessor N L Locker announced the session. members include R M Fraim Daniel Perez and Charles Miller. Preliminary meetings were held May 22 23 and 24 with notices sent the next day.

Vaccines on June 9 and August 11 from 1 30 to 5 30 pm for residents 4 months to 6 years and others not immunized. National State supplies vaccines with volunteers coordinating at each site.

Gov. John Connally urged a special legislative session to legalize sale of liquor in miniature bottles on a local option basis and allow on premise consumption in food oriented restaurants. The plan would raise about 14.5 million dollars for the 1969 budget and redefines private clubs to curb easy permit qualification.
Santos Roman, 52, of Del Rio, died in San Angelo at 10 p.m. Monday from head injuries suffered Saturday night 18 miles east on Highway 67. He lived at 503 Bowie Street and will be buried in Del Rio. Diaz Funeral Home handles arrangements.
Officials of the United Fund Campaign in the Chamber of Commerce Building approved a budget of about 45 000 with allocations 9676 to Red Cross 10000 to Girl Scouts 13350 to Boy Scouts 6500 to Salvation Army 600 to Mental Health Foundation 150 to Texas United Fund 525 to USO 250 to Southwest Diabetic Fund and 300 to Medical Research Fund.
