Stocks slipped in early trading today as the Dow Jones industrial average fell 3.90 points to 1858.05 at 10:30 a.m. Declining issues on the NYSE outpaced advances two to one, with Big Board volume at 120.59 million shares versus 151.20 million in the prior session.

Wenceslad S. Rodriguez, 65, died Sunday in Ciudad Acuna Mexico. He lived at 109 Ridgemont Del Rio. Rites were held today at 3 p.m. at St. Josephs Catholic Church with burial at Oak Lawn Memorial Park under Humphreys-Doran Funeral Home. He was born February 29 1921 in Jimenez Coahuila Mexico. Survived by wife Aurora T. Rodriguez Del Rio sons Ray Rodriguez Colorado Springs and John W Rodriguez Dallas daughters Rose De Leon Dallas Socorro Zembrano and Ana Rodriguez Del Rio six grandchildren.
Border Patrol reports 8,691 deportable aliens arrested last month, down 4 percent from May, attributed to higher Rio Grande water. In May the Del Rio sector began 141 smuggling cases involving 186 smugglers and 760 aliens, including 75 non Latin American and three from Spain. Vehicle seizures reached 136, a new record, with 77,550 aliens apprehended this fiscal year, 21 percent above last year.
