Dryden Mechanic John Montgomery Found Dead at Home
John Montgomery of Dryden, about 72, a junkyard mechanic, was found dead at his Dryden residence Wednesday night. Justice of the Peace Edelmira Calzar ruled death from natural causes, estimating he had been dead about two days after the body was found near 7 p.m. The body was moved to Del Rio in a Don's Funeral Chapels coach for pending rites.

Six Del Rio Boy Scouts leave San Angelo for the 10th National Jamboree at Fort A.P. Scout builds marker at Amistad Governor's Landing site

Engine Fire Destroys Car Engine on Cienegas Road
A Del Rican man suffered about 1000 in damage when a fire started in his car engine on Cienegas Road and St Joseph Street Wednesday evening. Firefighters from G W Cox Memorial Fire Station responded at 7 25 p m and another resident helped extinguish the blaze with a garden hose before the engine burned entirely. The Del Rio Fire Department reported no cause found and the crew returned to station about 7 40 p m.
