Del Rio City Council dismissed city manager Florencio P. Sauceda by a 4 to 3 vote after a more than five hour executive session. Rafael Castillo named acting city manager as Sauceda's supporters protested in chambers.
Del Rio residents pack the council hall with 60 to 75 people outside and inside as City Manager Florencio Sauceda enters to cheers. Otila Gonzalez assisted with forms, traveling over 3000 miles to help. Commissioners Ortiz and Cody supported submitting the application and all voted in favor.
