YCC program aids Amistad recreation area projects
The YCC program built picnic benches, tables, grills, and docks at Amistad Recreation Area using carrizo canes and native stone. Youth earned while learning and received field trips, first aid, defensive driving, and job readiness training including work applications and interviews. Police start late on two Del Rican thefts
Police Friday investigated two thefts totaling about 1080 dollars. John Duncan reported four wheel covers and two back tires stolen from his car parked at Crossroads West about six months ago. Lois Hartey said four vinyl hubcaps were taken from her car in her driveway around June.

Del Rio High School twirlers returned from the Katheryn Fain Beveraly Schubert camp in Brenham with 25 ribbons and multiple awards. The group earned a top line trophy, superior ribbons for two routines in one day, and honors for showmanship, spirit, and a jazz routine. Two Pecos Men Arrested on Drug Possession Charge

Texas Employment Commission figures show 453 applications processed in June up 75 from June 1980, while 199 placements occurred versus 157 in the prior year.
