Del Rio man charged in drive by shooting near G I Forum Park
Heriberto Cuellar, 19, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for a drive by shooting that wounded 19 year old Jesse Lee Santellanes in Del Rio. Santellanes was struck in the arm after shots were fired from another car at G I Forum Park near Pop Word baseball field.

At last week’s city council meeting a Y2K roundup was presented with city personnel Ruben Guerrero Henry Arredondo Mitch Lomas Dwayne Wilson Manny Herrera Yvonne Gomez Al Casillas Jesse Velasquez and John Sheedy represented from various city facets. Total cost reached 460000 with potential 1900000 in savings if outside help had been used. Arredondo called it a well prepared non event. City Manager Florencio Sauceda praised crews for keeping the city ready. Col Winfield Scott and Col mayor of Ciudad Acuna were named honorary alcaldes.
