Segura sentenced to 75 days on probation for deadly crash
Eagle Pass man Roberto Segura Jr., 21, was found guilty of criminal negligent homicide and received 75 days in Val Verde County Jail plus five years probation and a $5,000 fine. The plea deal capped potential punishment at two years in state jail. The crash on Ogden near San Felipe Creek Feb 23 killed 23-year-old Patricia Vanfossan and injured Elizabeth Esquivel.

Marijuana Loads Seized at Del Rio Port of Entry
U S Customs officials intercepted two marijuana shipments totaling 118.5 pounds at the Del Rio Port of Entry over the weekend. Jose Alberto Garza, 22, of Del Rio, and Jose Leal, 26, of Turlock, California, were arrested. Garza allegedly concealed 118.5 pounds in a toolbox and wheel wells. Leal hid 68 pounds under a car floorboard. Estimated street values total 186,500. Both suspects await state and federal court appearances.
