Woman jailed after stabbing man with screwdriver
Vanessa Valenzuela, 23, was arrested on December 24 and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon as police say she stabbed a man in the neck with a screwdriver at Ranch Motel during a dispute over a private call. The victim was taken to Val Verde Regional Medical Center for treatment.

38th Annual Gift Giveaway Brings Joy to Del Rio Families
The Del Rio Gypsy International Motorcycle Club hosts the 38th Toys for Tots event at Casa De La Cultura on December 20. Twenty three families received gift cards and 67 children got toys, many bicycles, funded by local merchants Elks Lodge 837 Buzzard's Roost Casa De La Cultura and riders from Texas clubs. Proceeds from November auctions at Buzzard's Roost supported purchases. Carl No Show Green, chapter president, praised community help and invited further contributions to sustain next year’s event.
