Man Sought For Illegal Recruitment
Border Patrol says it has identified a Mexican recruiter aiding illegal entry of workers into the United States. Twenty four Mexicans were apprehended in two weeks. eleven are in Webb County jail. Aliens paid the recruiter 200 to 280 dollars to smuggle them, with plans to work in a Chicago wire factory.

Seven Firemen Rescued After Manhattan Building Collapse
In Manhattan, seven firemen trapped by debris in a four story collapse were rescued after 12 12 hours of effort. They belonged to the third division which suffered fatal losses in October. All seven were taken to Bellevue Hospital with no serious injuries. Fire Chief John T. O’Hagan credited “a bit of Christmas luck” and cited faith during the dramatic rescue.
