Roberto Salas Sr aged 51 died Wednesday in a work related accident at Boerne. He lived at 206 E Rodriguez St Del Rio. Services by Don's Funeral Chapels set for today at 4 pm with burial at Oak Lawn Memorial Park. Survived by wife Julia Gomez Salas and many children, grandchildren and siblings across Texas and nearby regions.
Death notices from Del Rio and Ciudad Acuna list Ann Fleetwood Kraeger 56 of Beaumont, native of Trinity, survived by three sons and three daughters, services at St Andrew Presbyterian Church with burial at Forest Lawn. Also listed are Geraldine Hale 58 of Sevierville and Felton Fitch 77 of Uvalde with funeral arrangements and survivors detailed.

Xavier Rodriguez appears on the cover at a Kmart shopping spree aiding underprivileged youths. He assisted Del Rio Lions' Club members as his father belongs to the sponsor group. Xavier volunteered his time to help children select items, and the staff apologizes for the misidentification.
A Tuesday night fire at 114 Aguinaldo St. owned by Rodrigo Villareal started when a lantern toppled in a back room, igniting fuel. Twenty-eight firefighters in five trucks arrived at 10:43 p.m. and contained the blaze to the house and back room after 90 minutes. The home suffered substantial smoke and heat damage with damage estimated around $6,000 and no injuries reported.
Manuel and Mary Jane Mendoza welcome a 9 pound 12 ounce boy born December 16 at 2:58 a.m. at Val Verde Memorial Hospital. The infant, Manuel Mendoza II, has a sister Jennifer Adriana. Grandparents are Jesus and Josefina Mendoza of Los Angeles and Lile Guerrero of Seymour, with the late Jose Mojica of Del Rio.
