One Dies and One Hurt in Rollover Outside Del Rio
A San Angelo man was killed and a companion injured when their 1988 Jeep Cherokee rolled on U S 277 about 17 miles north of Del Rio at 6 a m Saturday. Juan Salazar Santellano, 18, was dead. Esequiel Bejio, 17, treated and released for minor injuries. Adrian L. Rodriguez, also of San Angelo, drove the vehicle and was uninjured. Police report the driver lost control while traveling south and all occupants were unbelted.

Del Rio man denied bond after Border Patrol marijuana stop
Arnulfo Aguilar Urrutia was denied bond and ordered held without bond for a detention hearing Thursday after a Border Patrol pursuit near Comstock. Agents found 13 bundles of marijuana weighing 577.5 pounds valued at about 465000 in a 1985 Chevrolet Blazer driven into Seminole Canyon on Highway 90. He maintained innocence at the initial court appearance and was later picked up near the scene. Also, St James Episcopal School students placed socks on the Christmas tree to benefit Bethel Center.
