The Madonna Class of the Pirse Rapier Church gathered Wednesday afternoon at Mre Truce Bradley’s Devils River home. Mie Wi Meculier led an opening prayer before reports. Thaxton has served at Fort Clark with the Veterinary Corps and once taught Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M. Patsy Anne Pirtle visited her branch patients Meroe and Mrs Joe Harrison. Det Rig will host a special Kinhey County War Committee meeting to report on fundraising.

Mrs Robert Wells recent bride and Miss Betty Acker alumna was surprise guest of honor at a miscellaneous shower Wednesday afternoon hosted by Mrs George W Fisher. Attendees gathered at 1 30 p m at the Wells home on Third Street and then visited the honoree's residence. Corsages of white and orchid chrysanthemums were given to guests including Mrs Wells and other friends and organizers from East Texas State Teachers College and Civilian Morale Service.
