Lake Amistad Festival of Lights draws crowds for Christmas boat parade
The Lake Amistad Festival of Lights attracts spectators from across the Southwest for a December boat parade. Chuck Bowles of the Amistad Navy urges attendees to dress warm, pick a viewing site such as Blackbrush Point or Diablo areas, enjoy Lions Club food service, and follow park rangers and deputies’ safety directions for a family friendly outing. The event originated in 1987 after a member read about a water parade in Arizona and Utah and was postponed to 1988 for implementation.
