The Sunset Advisory Commission moved to shore up the Crime Victims Compensation Fund by charging misdemeanor offenders twelve fifty to fund the program. It noted the fund started in 1979 under the Industrial Accident Board and now runs a million four in the red due to shortfalls from felonious charges. The panel did not extend benefits to volunteer firefighters police and ambulance drivers and did not approve extending workers compensation to farm workers.

The suit centers on Wesley A. Conley’s death in the July 16, 1982 crash near Blossom. The widow and son sue a Sun Valley liquor store, its owner, and the involved drivers.
