Student dies after school bus crash near Vandalia
A 14-year-old girl, Shawna Ward, died from injuries after a school bus crashed Wednesday on a country road near Vandalia, 60 miles south of Springfield. The bus skidded off a two-lane road into a 40-foot ravine. 16 people were hurt and another victim remained in critical condition.
