The Texas Department of Health opened a second site at Guadalupe CCD School on Cuellar Street. The clinic runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday August 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tetanus boosters stress counseling information on sanitation WIC and general health will be provided. Officials say residents who receive checks at home should pick up at the Bedell Avenue Post Office rather than the Social Security office. Call the Post Master promptly to arrange holding and pickup if you have no home.

Salvation Army seeks volunteers at H E B East 6th Street and Avenue F.
Texas General Land Office Commissioner Gary Mauro surveyed damage and provided a Mobile Communications Unit for the Corpus Christi police substation at Garza and Taini streets. Mayor Cuavira and Chief Bruce cited improved community contact and emergency response as the unit remains as needed. Mauro, a Democratic gubernatorial candidate, said the office will offer needed public communication resources to residents.
FEMA spokesperson Pam Johnson states that claims must be filed by calling 1-800-462-9029 or TDD 1-800-462-7585 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Core FEMA staff at the Civic Center are communications specialists and initial damage assessors, not applicants.

Federal responders assess flood damage in Del Rio Texas after Tropical Storm Charley. About 170 people remained unaccounted for as cleanup crews and search teams drill debris lines and verify locations. 81 were unaccounted for Friday evening. Nine missing were in town when floods struck. others may be in San Antonio Uvalde or Mexico. Authorities dredge the San Felipe Creek to recover remains and locate the missing.
FEMA set up camp outside Del Rio Civic Center to aid residents after floods killing seven in Del Rio and five elsewhere in the border area plus deaths in the Texas Hill Country. About 400 people remain at the shelter, with more than 450 requesting aid and 300 processed. money could flow by next week.
