Ex-officer gets probation in child abandonment case
Angela Castillo, a former Del Rio police officer who served from 2003 to 2008, was sentenced to three years probation after pleading guilty to felony child abandonment. Judge Robert E. Cadena deferred finding her guilty until probation ends, with dismissal possible on successful completion. Castillo arrived late for sentencing, drawing admonishment from the judge.
