City braces for cuts to chamber and nonprofits funding
Del Rio plans deep room tax reductions for five nonprofits and the Chamber of Commerce Tourism and Convention Department to free funds for a $302,698 civic center debt payment and a new air conditioning system. The 2004 05 budget proposes 23 percent cuts to the chamber arts groups and preservation allocations, affecting the Del Rio Civic Center 60 percent share and leaving other groups with smaller sums.
