Del Rio leaders plan to honor Judge Felix R. Barrera by naming a park east of Pecos Memorial Park after him. Julio C. Flores urged the city council to create the park, noting Barrera’s 26 years as a justice of the peace and prior service as a Val Verde County deputy and WWII veteran.

Guns N Hoses softball: Del Rio firefighters crush police
Del Rio firefighters defeated Del Rio police 24 to 12 in the 10th Guns N Hoses game at Hogan Field. Proceeds benefit a fund for families of fallen firefighters and officers. Fire Lt.
