Reagan Reverses Carter, OKs Neutron Warhead Stockpile
President Reagan approved production and stockpiling of neutron warheads for Lance missiles and an eight inch howitzer shell. Warheads will be stored in the United States without deployment abroad. State Department stressed this is an internal matter and no deployment plans outside U.S. at this time. The move follows a NSC coordinated review with Pentagon, State, and Energy. Two Del Rio women were treated for injuries after their car hit a northbound pickup at Avenue F and Chevrolet Drive Friday at 5 11 pm. Sandra Rangel 24 and Ana Gomez 23 received abrasions and lacerations, while pickup driver Jimmy Mercado 19 and passenger Buster Lewis 60 suffered minor injuries.

Police arrest illegal alien in De Rio disturbance
Ramiro Reyna aged 24 was arrested after a disturbance at 1505 North Main Street. He was found to be an illegal alien and turned over to the U S Border Patrol at 8 15 a m Saturday by Patrolman J R Smith.
Police hunt driver after Margarita Avenue crash
Del Rio police hunted a driver of a brown car who fled after crossing the centerline and striking two southbound vehicles on Margarita Avenue Friday night. The northbound car hit a vehicle driven by Victor Magallanez and a van driven by Juan E B Nanez at the 700 block, about 10 10 p m. Magallanez and Nanez escaped injury.

Del Rio police examined a reported Friday shooting on Chappy Street where a 19 year old woman said a man fired one shot from a small caliber pistol and fled in a white car around 7 35 p m no injuries were reported and no arrests were made. Police also looked into an assault near Stagecoach Inn and thefts including two air conditioning units from First Christian Church and a jewelry theft from a local woman with a watch band and a ring valued at 800 and 250 respectively.

Susan Hunt Hammelman 38 native of Del Rio died Friday after a brief illness in Chicago where she had resided for years. Rites set for Monday at 11 a.m. in Chicago. Born May 9, 1943, she was survived by husband Carl Hammelman two children Laurie 13 and Keith 8, mother Mrs Allen Ann Major Mitchell, Charles Mitchell of El Paso, and siblings John Hunt Carol Candler Chuck Mitchell and Patty Jones.
