Dead elephant found in trailer with exotic animals
In Albuquerque a swaying parked trailer prompted bicycle officers to stop and uncover a dead elephant, two live elephants, and llamas packed in a poorly vented unit. About 120 degrees with only two air holes, the animals were being moved toward San Antonio by a Texas circus, Kings Royal Circus. Police believe the trailer belongs to the Texas outfit. driver left the cab to fetch a third man at the airport. In Lampasas, a century-old church used by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas was destroyed by fire at the Foxworth Galbraith Lumber Co, fate unknown for now.

School panel to hear coach Flores grievance
