Two Crystal City officials Rogelio Mata and Roel Mata pleaded guilty to one count of federal programs bribery in a long running kickback scheme. They admitted using official positions since February 2015 to solicit cash bribes from business interests, with sentencing pending.
Police report details a central Del Rio home burglary on June 27 with more than 2400 dollars in firearms including a Smith & Wesson pistol a Beretta 9mm and a Ruger 22 caliber among items stolen. Also taken were 800 dollars in cash and several prescription medications. Inventory was compiled by Officer Jose Rueda. The incident remains under investigation.
Del Rio High School Rams continue conditioning and drills as they begin two a day practices for the 2016-17 season. The schedule includes full contact drills on Saturday with media day and the Blue and White Scrimmage at Walter Levermann Ram Stadium at 6 p.m.
