Bracketville reports a hunter on the Stadler ranch wounded a fine bull which died days later. Judge Stadler owned the animal and had paid a good price, making the loss a serious setback and cited as a reason many ranches close to hunting.
In Austin on September 22 the filibuster against the bill to create the lower Colorado River authority broke, and debate began on directing completion of a $4,500,000 hydro electric project. In Wales on September 22 hope faded for 100 coal miners trapped after an explosion at Gresford colliery, with rescuers unable to reach them.
Mrs. M. C. Locke regained her diamond ring Friday after Sheriff A. E. Steinmetz acted on grand jury revelations. A boy confessed stealing the ring about a week earlier. he had the ring in a purse that was not recovered along with the purse.
Standard Oil of New Jersey rejects federal production control legislation and backs a state compact to curb over production. W S Farish, chairman, argues against national rules and favors interstate agreement. William Gutman and Miss Sarah Barbas plan a wedding in a Huron River cemetery in Michigan.
A special jury pool of 72 is summoned for October 1 to try Vivian Pinkston for murder. The case moved from Brackettville to Del Rio on venue change. Pinkston allegedly murdered Joseph Smith at Standart on July 16, 1932, was convicted by a Kinney County jury in 1933, received three years, and appealed prompting a Court of Criminal Appeals reversal and remand to Brackettville.
Harry Pierpont and Charles Makley of the Dillinger gang were shot in their cells at the Ohio penitentiary as they tried to escape with fake guns. Makley died. Pierpont and guard Harold Whetstone were seriously hurt. The men awaited execution for the Jess Larber murder after a prior Tucson capture. Dozens of shots were fired as guards confronted the bluff.
Four fliers were killed when the airplane refueling Sir Alan Cobham's craft for a non stop flight to India crashed on a London highway. The refueling plane carried 100 gallons of gasoline as Cobham prepared for the journey. The crash happened as they returned to England. the refueling pilot was C. H. Bellridge with three mechanics aboard.

The danger passed, leaving the men dusty and shaken but unharmed.
In San Angelo on September 22 the Tom Green County growers sold 8291 sheep to the government during the first four days of the program. Will Hill reports 248 sheep bought in district 1 and 2168 condemned. H P Malloy reports 2200 sheep purchased and 3500 condemned in Sterling County noting lower condemnation there due to a rancher moving a fat flock after lease loss.
Government sheep purchases in Val Verde County this week totalled 11 278 head at 2 dollars each, bringing 22 556 dollars to ranchmen. Of the shipments 8 700 were condemned and slaughtered on the ranches, 1 278 accepted for shipment, and 1 300 remained to be sorted Saturday. Pelts of condemned animals, 2 042, were stored at the county storehouse in Fairview and are being checked by C J Brotherton. pelts must dry two to three days before final accounting.
Leipzig authorities say the body of Isidor Fisch likely would be disinterred for an autopsy if New York police request it. Fisch, once linked to Hauptmann, died this year, and Hauptmann claimed Fisch gave him 13,000 dollars found in his Bronz residence. Dr. Condon urged exhumation and examination.
New York reports police injecting a mystery woman into the Hauptmann investigation as detectives search for helpers. Footprints of a woman were found near the Lindbergh home in Hopewell New Jersey after the kidnapping. Dr John F Condon known as Jafsie says at least three people were involved.
A note said to be from Bruno Richard Hauptmann claimed he would kidnap the Lindbergh baby. The message was sent to Ohio penitentiary prisoner George Paullin, disclosed by Warden Preston Thomas. Prisoner reportedly learned of the note after the kidnapping. New Jersey authorities showed no current interest.
Alfred Azner of London was granted a divorce after his wife concealed a prior bigamy conviction. The court found the concealment justified the dissolution of the marriage.
