The judge notes sympathy with Mrs Ives and co respondent Miss Cowling after Mrs Ives chastised Cowling with a dog-load of punishment and poured paint on the husband at his business place following a confrontation in April 1935.
A combined assembly of the High School, Junior High and Central Elementary Schools heard J. M. Allardyce of San Antonio deliver an address Friday morning in the high school auditorium. Rev. Roland Murray introduced the speaker with a few remarks.
In Bilwasakarma on the Coco River Nicaragua the Moravian Mission dedicated a hospital with Bethlehem headquarters and attendees including Moravian bishop and American German and native missionaries. Dr. David Thaeler of Arlington New Jersey will oversee the facility.
Mrs. Geo. W. Cox is named district director for the 29th Senatorial District in the Women's Division of the Democratic Party. The 27 county district includes El Paso Hudspeth Culberson Reeves Loving Winkler Ward Ector Midland Glasscock Reagan Upton Crane Crockett Sutton Edwards Real Kinney Val Verde Terrell Brewster Presidio Jeff Davis Pecos Uvalde Medina and Maverick. She also serves as Val Verde County women's division director and would become committee woman if equal representation passes. The movement seeks a 50-50 gender balance in state politics and to unite the women with the men in the party a goal the organization aims to achieve before the January legislative session.

Funeral services for Mrs. R. M Suttles, sister of Mrs. W. E. Cook of Del Rio, were held Thursday afternoon in Monett. Suttles, 73, died Tuesday afternoon at her home in Monett. She is survived by six children, one times, William Hudson of Jenkins City, Mo., and three sisters, Mrs. George Wilder of Pierce City, Mo., Mrs. Lione Cornman of Jenkins, Mo., and Mrs. W. E. Cook of Del Rio.
Four hundred people trapped on Ocracoke Island NC were rescued as the hurricane moved north along the Atlantic coast. Coast Guard saved two ships and a barge while emergency plans formed from Maine to Virginia amid fears of heavy losses. Two deaths were reported in early dispatches as full gale warnings spread.
Washington reports WPA has spent 123,992,587 dollars in Texas as of August 1 with about 55 million more approved. The survey of 1935 and 1956 relief acts shows 134,115 Texans on WPA jobs July 25, including 76,442 on WPA rolls and 22,836 on agriculture and public works projects using WPA funds.

In Cairo on September 18 a collision between an outing steamer and a sailing boat on the flooded Nile killed fifteen Egyptians from a holiday party. Forty five workmen their wives and children drowned with only four saved as the swift current hindered rescue efforts.
An 18 day old baby boy abandoned under a bridge near Waxahachie has been awarded to Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Thompson of Ennis. Adoption papers were filed in District Court as the Ennis family cares for the child while final papers are pending. The infant was found under a bridge on a seldom used road with silt on his body after cars passed overhead.
