Police confirm 15 year old Lindbergh Heist confessed to the attack and killing of six year old Shirley Ann Woodburn after luring her from her home. The body with stab wounds was found yesterday following the Sunday disappearance.
The Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice Hughes, denied government requests to reconsider the April 25 Kansas City Stock Yards decision. Justice Black dissented as the court rejected claims the court reversed itself and upheld the challenged procedure of reducing charges by the Agriculture secretary affecting commission men in Kansas City.

Princeton resident W P Cash announced the $10000 ransom for his five year old nephew James Bailey Cash Jr had been paid. The father, a wealthy merchant, made two trips along a map provided by the abductors and tossed the money from a car. He awaited word on the boy’s release after returning from the second trip.
A severe earthquake rattled about one million Southern California homes today from Santa Barbara to San Diego. The ground rolled in a sidewise motion waking frightened families and spare areas suffered less damage.
Philadelphia May 31 The Rev William Pugh of Chester Pennsylvania was chosen as state clerk of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of the United States of America.
Ministers and priests in Greenwood Park urged revival of spiritual and moral values during Memorial Day services for World War dead. Speakers from First Baptist, Episcopal, Catholic, and Methodist churches denounced communism fascism and nazism while honoring soldiers, with the Fifth Cavalry Band, fort clark, and a firing squad salute marking the ceremony.
Mrs Eve Clayton Bickford wife of H C Bickford a Buffalo real estate man was barred from returning to England after a Berlin flying visit and said British immigration officials suspected her of being a spy. She was forced to return to Berlin after long questioning at Croydon airport.
Del Rio Chamber of Commerce highway committee and county Judge Clarence Herreford received blue prints for relocating Highway 277 between Del Rio and Sonora from the Highway Department. The committee will urge Austin to approve immediate construction in June. Flood-prone sections could be made passable 90 percent of the time with relocation, per Assistant State Highway Engineer W D Dockery. The San Angelo City Board of Development supports the improvement effort.
Del Rio athletic committee discusses renovating the high school athletic facilities through a Works Progress Administration grant. Possible plans include enlarging the present field, building a concrete stadium, and constructing a gymnasium, with a June board of education discussion planned.
Brownfield May 31 Ernest Leo Ward 37 an oil company employee was shot to death on a downtown corner after a brief exchange with an old friend and former coworker. The assailant surrendered and no charges were filed immediately.
The American Legion Auxiliary expressed appreciation for the Poppy Day sale held Saturday. President Mrs. J. R. Middlebrook praised the public response and the Girl Scouts for their help. Funds support local rehabilitation work and child welfare in the community.
New York May 31 report states about 300 people died violently during the Memorial Day holiday. Traffic accidents caused 174 deaths, 72 people drowned, fires killed 11, and miscellaneous accidents claimed 40 lives. Texas reported 12 deaths and Louisiana two.
On his 41st birthday Charlie Brooks, a Black man, was electrocuted in Huntsville for the March 1937 slaying of Sheriff Alex Brown of Marion County.
Floresville May 31. Jesus Herrera a sharecropper was sentenced to death by a jury after being found guilty of killing 12 year old Hope Elizondo on May 12.
