Washington observers view the LaFollette brothers push for a Progressive Party in Wisconsin as locally focused with limited national impact. Senators from both parties see Bob LaFollette in a difficult position as Wisconsin Democrats demand influence and Republicans waver on backing him.
Joseph L. Redman aged 18 is accused of marrying Wilhelmina Dilger, also 18, while still legally married to Silvia A. Davis, 20, of Detroit. The Detroit wife’s mother filed the charge, claiming Redman never got a divorce.
Mrs. Annie Elizabeth Flatry, 74, died Wednesday at 12 15 p m in the home of her sister, Mrs Lula D Garner, 1400 South Main Street after several years illness. Funeral at 5 p m Thursday from Doran Chapel with Rev Claude R Hill and Rev B D Kennedy officiating. Interment Westlawn Cemetery. Surviving two children, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two sisters, one brother-in-law. She came to Del Rio in 1882 on first San Antonio to Del Rio passenger train and ran the first millinery and dressmaking shop there.

A Fort Clark bugler and a firing squad will take part in Memorial Day ceremonies at West Lawn Cemetery tonight at 7. The parade forms at Greenwood Park, moves via Main Street to the Val Verde Hotel, then to the cemetery for services including prayers, addresses by Julian LaCrosse and E. C. Wellborn, and a grave decoration by school children. Local banks, courthouse offices, and the post office closed for the holiday.
Eight blue sheep, among the rarest large mammals, were obtained for the Smithsonian Institution by Rev. D. C. Graham. The animals are blue gray with white markings on the back and belly, and the rams bear olive brown horns that curve backward.
In Indianapolis May 30 Mauri Ross of Dayton Ohio led the 500 mile race at 100 miles with a time of 58 minutes 17.25 seconds and an average speed of 102.938 mph Frank Brisko of Milwaukee was in front at the start and remains a top contender George Bailey of Detroit broke a wrist when his car crashed through the north wall six other starters were out by 100 miles due to accidents Louis Meyer of Southgate California is a noted favorite for the title with prize money totaling 100000 dollars
Del Rio Chamber of Commerce hosts a meeting to approve a $3,000 underwrite for the Tenth Annual Frontier Days celebration. Organizers promise record purses, Morison five gaited horses, $45,000 stock, and turtle racing nightly at Slippery Gulch with bands and multiple horse races from across the state.
Sheriff A E Steinmetz uncovered loot from a ring of petty thieves including garden hoses sprinklers musical instruments and guns. A man was arrested on burglary charges tied to an attempted entry on the city outskirts and placed under 500 bond and sent to Val Verde County jail to await grand jury.
Two Langtry men were fined 42.65 each in Justice Court for brandishing six shooters at a Langtry dance. Sheriff A E Steinmetz arrested them and they were jailed in Del Rio after court heard evidence of disruption to the event.
In Henry County near Springport a small airplane burst into flames in woods, killing pilot Kenneth Rutherford aged 27 and passenger Homer Wolverton 22 as the craft fell about 200 feet from the ground. The wreckage was found west of the town in the northern part of the county. The crash occurred in broad daylight and authorities investigated the cause.
Pat Murphy of San Angelo will speak at Greenwood Park at 8 30 p m discussing issues of today. J J Foster will introduce him and Mrs Geo W Cox will speak in support of Murphy's candidacy for Congress in the new 21st district. A band will provide music and the event invites public attendance.
Funeral services for Harry L. Sexton killed in an El Paso airplane crash will be held Friday at 4 30 p m in Brownsville. The body travels from El Paso to San Antonio then to Brownsville escorted by customs personnel before burial. Lt C G Edge of the US Coast Guard survived the crash after the plane failed to land safely in the desert.
Mr. Sexton, well known in Del Rio, visited on inspection tours about a month ago. Captain Luke Dowe says local customs service members are likely to attend the funeral.
Eldorado May 30 A two day celebration at Camp Allison is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday June 12 and 13. Alfred ciwiening, who visited this week on business for the affair, is coordinating the arrangements.

Arthur C. Wilson 28 of El Paso charged with slaying Irene Deboit 31 a Cleveland widow near Van Horn. Authorities say Wilson detained in Georgetown British Guiana and may be returned to El Paso for trial after a six month manhunt aided by an informant aboard the same vessel.
Tokyo reports the death of Admiral Marquis Heiachiro Togo at 86 from cancer of the throat. He commanded Japan’s forces in the Russo Japanese War, decisively defeating the Russian fleet at Tsushima on May 27, 1905, and earned the nation’s highest honors. His Tokyo residence atop Togo Hill became a patriotic shrine as plans for canonization and a Shinto shrine were mentioned.
A tear gas bomb tossed into a hall where Norman Thomas, former Socialist presidential candidate, spoke caused one woman to faint and two men to be injured in Rockford Illinois on May 30.
