Drenching Spring Rain Lifts Del Rio and Surrounding Districts
Reported rainfall of 0.73 inches at 10:30 Friday plus mist and showers over Del Rio Langtry Comstock and Sanderson areas yielded a valuable spring soaking. Ranchers expect weed and grain growth, grazing lands saturated, with forecasts noting occasional thundershowers and improving grass ahead of summer. Weather observer H L Molyneux provided the forecast.

Funeral Services for Mrs Wood Held Friday
Funeral services for Mrs Corrie Ed Worst died Wednesday afternoon at Ban Antelle were held Friday morning at 19 o'clock from the Dan Delaney residence 106 Beath Main Street. Rev Charles Nixon assisted by Rev T S Stauffer officiated. Doran Funeral Home arranged, burial in Wislaen Cemetery. Pallbearers named O B Wetnert Jom McCue Amat Mumophreys Join Scott W A Hopkins L G Dunning. Mrs Wood resided in Del Rio 17 years and had been in San Antonio recent days visiting her niece Mrs J B Stewart, later moved to a San Antonio hospital. She is survived by two stepsons and a niece Mrs J B Stewart and a nephew Dan Delaney.

70 More Hounds Marched to Death by Police
Police chief Henry Bridge said about 70 dogs were rounded up Friday and sent to the city pound. Unclaimed or unadapted animals will be killed after a few days. Most are strays and were considered a rabies risk this summer.
