The family home at 214 Wat Strickland hosts funeral services for Hutchinson. Rev. Chari Nixon leads the rites for Thomas F. Mrs. Alice Allen Dies in Douglas Arizona

News of the death of Mrs. Alice Allen cousin of Mrs. C W Earnest of Del Rio was received in the city Wednesday. She was the widow of James B Jake Allen former sheriff of Tom Green County and sister of Bob Hewitt present sheriff of San Angelo. She died in Douglas Ariz after illness and the funeral will be held there Thursday.

Wool Pool Auction Nears Completion in San Angelo

In San Angelo on May 28 110 000 pounds of eight months wool from a 6 035 000 pound pool were sold for about 2542 cents per pound to H D Kid Allen for Charles J Webb Sons Company of Boston as the all or none sale failed. The sale drew major wool houses with 100 plus growers observing. The pool was restructured into a single 5 925 000 pound pool for sale on the all or none basis with a new auction planned if unsold by June 17.

UVALDE May 28 Stockmen expect aid in fighting the blowfly from a small bee found by Dan C. Parman in charge of the agriculture department experiment station. Experiments aim to increase this bee species as it competes with the blowfly. The bee lays eggs on blowfly larvae and thwarts blowfly hatching. Parman’s lab will hatch both blowfly and bee to test outcomes.
