Senator Thomas G Pollard of Tyler criticized Governor Ross Sterling's plan to call a special legislative session to enact conservation laws. He said the move could cost the state 250000 and urged the session focus on probing alleged anti trust violations by oil companies.
In early trading prices slid as the market faced declines across the mid continental region. Houston reports a cut from 87 to 37 cents per barrel, with Gulf Texas Arkansas Magnolia and Sinclair following suit, the bottom price dropping to 27 cents a barrel.
Mrs Margaret Allison of Sonora wife of George Allison pioneer rancher in West Texas died at 10 30 Tuesday night after a brief illness at her home. Services planned in Sonora with last rites at her longtime residence. Survived by her husband eight children including G C Curt Allison H P (Buster) Allison John Allison all of San Angelo Sam Allison Mrs CE Stites Mrs Alfred Schwenning Miss Clara Allison and Mrs Jack McDermott of St Louis.
Austin report says Governor Hors Sterling signed the occupation tax bill with an increased sulphur tax and a graduated tax on peddlers. Track regulation bill will be considered by the governor today.

In Quanah Texas on May 27 E C Goree 55 a Hardeman farmer was shot several times by his daughter Mrs Inez Tinker 22 mother of two while he attended a trial on incest charges she filed. Goree is expected to recover doctors say.
In Wheeling West Virginia Mr and Mrs Norman Peabody welcomed their thirteenth child on the thirteenth of the month. The newborn is a boy and tipped the family balance to fourteen children.
Tuesday night ceremonies at Sacred Heart Church marked the graduation of four high school and eight grammar school students. Rev Fr G M Cartier delivered the baccalaureate sermon, praising the city along the Rio Grande and noting the growth from a small frame school to the present fine academy facilities.
Carrizo Springs on May 27 26 year old Ray Templer lost his left arm in a side swipe with a truck. He received first aid then transfusion from his brother Otis to recover from blood loss at Crystal City hospital. The severed arm was found near a bridge about two hours after the crash.
Rudolph Black and Gerald Goodhen soldiers at Fort Clark Brack enville were injured around 9 o clock Tuesday when the automobile they rode in slid 15 feet into the bottom of an irrigation ditch in the Chihuahua section. Black suffered a dislocated shoulder and bruises while Goodhen had a severely cut finger and body lacerations. Doctors said they would return to their army post the next day.
About 270 Baylor University seniors listened to a message from the late president Dr Samuel Palmer Brooks read by Dean W S Allen as they received diplomas. Brooks dictated the message before his death from cancer urging courage and responsibility, ending with I entrust the care of Baylor and I hand the torch.
Austin report says Dave Goodwin, a tenant farmer on death row for killing Lloyd Elliott in a hog dispute, had his plea for a rehearing denied by the Court of Criminal Appeals. Elliott was shot and his body dumped in Sulphur River. Goodwin confessed.

After disaster struck the wool market the co ops may not seek Farm Board advances this fall. Critics blame the Farm Board for spring mohair and Usat market declines while about 16 million pounds of Texas spring wool have been sold. Prices range 10 to 19 cents with an average near 17 to 18 cents as warehouses fill and 5.5 million pounds remain with the National Wool Marketing Corporation.
American Legion officials announce three parade sections for Decoration Day events in Del Rio. Section one forms near the courthouse with veterans, veterans groups, and youth groups. Section two assembles on Greenwood Street with public officials and community organizations. Section three forms on Losolla Street with Mexican officials and crossers. The ceremony starts at 3:30 at the cemetery with invocation, anthem, address, America, taps, and firing squad salute.
San Antonians and Del Rin residents are invited to visit the San Carlos irrigation project in Coahuila about 20 miles south and east of Villa Acuna. Those planning to go should notify officials. cars will be provided from Del Rio and a barbecue picnic will be arranged at the dam site by the construction firm in charge.
In Big Spring Texas on May 27 Mrs Bessie Williamson 28 was shot dead at the home of I R Harris ending a party last night Les A Williamson her husband was charged with murder waived examining trial and released on bond of 5000 dollars
Overtime parking again drew police attention with six violators tagged after a Tuesday check. Fines of two dollars were assessed in many cases. Three offenders were hauled into police court. Police Chief Henry Bridge warned that fines may rise if cars clog Main Street, noting side streets offer space.
Don Woods of Chesaw faced a trial in Omak Washington on a charge of shooting a 20 year old horse valued at ten dollars. The trial cost three hundred dollars. The jury disagreed and Woods was freed.
Federal agents expected to complete the job of smashing a $1,000,000 liquor syndicate charged with distributing alcohol in Missouri Oklahoma Arkansas Colorado and parts of Nebraska and Texas.
