Death of E C Steffes in Texas Train Collision
The body of E C Steffes, about 20, of El Paso and a Southern Pacific automobile mechanic, arrived in Del Rio last night and is held for funeral arrangements. He was killed when a local freight engine struck the railroad motor car he rode, after which missiles struck him. An El Paso investigation is underway and his mother in Wyandotte, Michigan, has been notified.

Texas sheep and goat rates cut in major ICC ruling
The Interstate Commerce Commission examiner recommends lower freight rates from Barnhart to Emporis Kansas and other points, affecting over 1,066,000 feeder lambs yearly. Minimum stocker sheep car weights drop from 22,000 to 18,000 pounds with 20,000 for fot sheep. A 835 cent per dollar stocker rate is urged, aligned with cattle. The Sheep and Goat Raisers Association of Texas led the fight with state and national livestock groups, aided by lawyers and witnesses in hearings across the country. The ICC will act on the examiner's report.
