Mickey Stephens, Lometa mayor, paid 40 to 50 cents for adult and kid hair from Moody clips, with total volume around 86,000 pounds. Other Texan buyers like Rudy Vaughan and Tom Parker inked deals from Eden to Paint Rock at 20 to 25 cents. Adolph Stieler sold 75,000 to 100,000 pounds of spring mohair to Jack Hughes at a 41 to 45 cent range, marking record highs for Texas mohair.

Honor students from Del Rio High School's Class of 1939 were announced by Drury Wood. Miss Frankie Lee Greenwood earned high honors and valedictorian, with Miss Jo Alice McDonald as salutatorian. Hobart McDowell Jr son of Mr and Mrs Hobart McDowell Sr of San Angelo was appointed editor of The Campus Corral the San Angelo High School student publication announced today by C K McDowell grandfather. The Campus Corral is published weekly by the journalism students. Hobart earned a Scroll membership pen for journalism and belongs to the National Honor Society the Quill and Scroll and the Footlighters. He writes plays and has had three produced this year at the high school with one staged three times.

Funeral Services For James Clark Held In Del Rio
Last rites for 69 year old James Clark of Brackettville were held Sunday in Del Rio at Doran Chapel. The service was led by Rev H M Ratliff and interment followed at West Lawn Cemetery. Clark died Saturday at 1 am at his Madison farm home near Clenegas Creek after residing in the area for about a year. Survivors include relatives. pallbearers were Arthur Evans R Herndon WD Henson A Madison John Almond Jr and Dr C L Schauers.
