Flood waters from Cypress and Black Cypress Rivers inundated Jefferson Texas and surrounding Marion County. Three hundred fifty nine families were driven from homes in the city and many more across the county sought higher ground as water rose, covering one third of Marion County and severing connections to the outside world. Roads and rail lines suffered, Red River near Tesarkena reportedly cresting, with extensive damage to bottom lands and highways in Bowie County Texas and Miller County Arkansas.

Directors of Uw Highway No. 90 Anedatios 111 meet in Del Rio on May 24 to discuss plans for the association including nominations for offices. Hal Hamilton, president, calls the meeting. A next general meeting site will be decided. The sixth general meeting, formed last July, will be held in July and may be the final 1930 session with a proposed program. Mrs Frank B James Rites Planned in Eagle Pass
News of the death of Mrs. Frank B James 63 formerly of Del Rio who died Friday night in Vallenar Chile. She was Maria Guadalupe Tejada daughter of Pablo and Mariana Tejada of Mexico and lived in Mexico before moving to Eagle Pass in 1913 then to Chile later returning to Del Rio and Chile. Her remains will be shipped to Eagle Pass for burial. Surviving are her husband two sons Frank B James Jr and Ori J James of Del Rio and three daughters Mrs Carline James Voss of Venezuela Mrs Hazel James Timberlake Chile and Mrs Lupita J Hume Eagle Pass.
