City health officer Dr Orr warns of sanitation laps by Del Rio dairymen after inspections find flies at milk stations dirty cans poor sterilisation and unclean instruments. He vows possible downgrade of dairy grades if deficiencies persist during hot weather fly season endangers residents.
Rodolph Ernest De Palma was sentenced to 18 months by Judge DuVal West in Peders Court for impersonating an officer at Jack's Place. He claimed to be a U B Shipping Board representative and a brother of Ralph De Palma, and his auto shop bill of 137.50 at Paul Rusenberger was cited as part of investigations showing no official affiliation.

In Bridgeport a trial over an automobile injury to Mrs. Susie Stressman included testimony that Dr. Harold Ligget of New York remodeled Jack Dempsey's nose. A valuation of 2000 was placed on an ivory nose. Stressman paid that amount to the surgeon as part of the damages claim.

El Paso May 19 labor leaders call for legalizing beer and light wines to curb unemployment. John Coefield of Washington says a five day week or eight hour day are key, arguing beer legalization would boost manufacturing and create jobs in breweries glass bottles transport and farming sectors. Howard adds money would flow into investment and unemployment relief would be immediate.
Del Rio school administrators say a wage slash is unlikely for teachers next fall despite debates elsewhere. They note Del Rio teachers earn about 50 000 a year with nine month terms, and 12 month contracts for many staff.

Massie says from 1930 to 1931 banks losses fell nationwide and Texas shows seven robberies recently. He criticizes U S laws for leniency and notes most crimes are by men aged 16 to 26.
Fisher County grand jury indicted Charlton Brown Mineral Wells mayor on transporting liquor. Trial set for May 25 after his arrest following a car crash. Brown said liquor was en route to a West Texas Chamber of Commerce convention.
A San Angelo jail fugitive, J B Connor, linked to extortion of 5000 dollars from R W Morrison, may have fled to Mexico after a decoy by Sheriff M L Whistler. Deputies chased a man matching Connor on a Texas train but found a Mexican impostor with forged papers. Connor was one of five escapees last week.
