A. L. Pearce former state representative from Coleman and Brown Counties died in a Coleman hospital Saturday. He was a ranchman and landowner born January 22 1864 in Jackson Parish Louisiana. Funeral services were held Sunday at the First Methodist Church with burial in Coleman Cemetery. Survivors include his children a brother and a sister.

Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Shockley Brooks Yates wife of Ira G. Yates were held at the First Methodist Church in San Angelo. She died in Santa Rosa Hospital San Antonio after a two week illness. Efrain Dovalina and Griff Jones of Eagle Pass and Manuel Cavazos of Piedras Negras were shot in a Piedras Negras saloon by a customs inspector who began firing a .45 pistol at 2 am. Cavazos and Dovalina were wounded in the hip and Jones in the leg. The inspector was jailed awaiting a hearing.

Conviction of Solon Upheld in Decision
