The community mourns Mrs. Josephine Claibourne Hinkle who died at 1:30 this morning at age 23 years 6 months and 20 days. Funeral at 6 pm at the Presbyterian church with Rev. Herbert G Markley in charge. Interment at West Lawn cemetery. survivors include her husband parents Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Walker three sisters and one brother. Pallbearers are Willie Kessler Rodney Foster Jesse Jackson Dougie McDougald Milfred Walker and Fred Dobkins.

Dallas May 15 Officials of the Texas State Fair plan a world championship rodeo at the 1929 fair with 14000 dollars in prizes. T. E. Jackson president and W. T. Johnson cattleman signed the contract. Johnson staged the rodeo during the American Legion convention in San Antonio last fall. The fair expects record entrants as the season finale. A. L. Ward appointed general superintendent of the livestock department, with Otto Herold directing. Judge with murder charge once horse whipped editor at Baylor
May 15 The jailing of R H Hamilton for the alleged slaying of his son in law Tom Walton Jr recalled alumni at Baylor University to his varied career. Hamilton once horse whipped W C Brann editor of the Cynoclast after Brann published an article about Baylor women. Brann and Hamiltons ally later died in a shooting on the post office steps. Hamilton served as Baylor professor from 1901 to 1919 and later held state offices before leading Howard Payne college and practicing law in Port Lavaca.

Mystery Blast Wrecks House in Amarillo
A powerful explosion destroyed a six room brick house in Amarillo injuring occupant H. M. Osborne who was thrown into the street by the blast. A second house about 300 yards away sustained damage from flying timbers. The cause of the blast is not yet known.

Moral Hall Dies At Brackettville
Moral Hall, member of the Seminole Scouts who guarded the frontier, died at his Brackettville home on Monday. Burial was Tuesday evening. Only three or four scouts remain from the company, which scattered after disbandment. Hall’s exact age is unknown but believed to be in his eighties.
