Funeral services were held at St Marks Episcopal Church with burial in Mission Burial Park.
About 153 Del Rio residents entered the yard and garden contest run by the Del Rio Garden Club and the Chamber of Commerce. Entries were filed by March 31 with judging slated for the week ending April 24. The Texas Unemployment Compensation Commission reports 35 Val Verde County employers paying contributions to fund unemployment benefits for 601 workers. District fieldmen Porter and Epperson oversee operations from the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, and employers are urged to seek assistance as needed. The commission, created in 1936 by Governor Allred, has collected about 7 million dollars from 11,000 Texas employers in five months, funding benefits for more than 600,000 workers. ongoing expenses are covered by the Federal Social Security Board. The next tax payment is due April 25, with a rate of 1.8 percent on total payroll for February and March 1937.
