Home Made Heater Explosion Kills Four In Detroit
A man in Detroit caused four deaths when a self built heater exploded in the garage of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Stewart. The couple and their children Mamie aged five and Thomas aged two died from burns and blast injuries. Stewart had fashioned a fuel tank from automobile oil collected for use in the heater which exploded as he lit a fire. Mrs. Stewart and the children were in bed when flames engulfed them while Stewart died attempting rescue.
