Galveston March 29 A man identified as Maci Ward 30 was shot to death near the city after knocking at E. E. Moore s door and ordering him to raise hands Moore fired three shots from his automatic pistol striking Ward who died Moore was not held by police and the case is under investigation.

Managers debated ringers but decided players may be rehired workers not currently on payroll. Mrs. Mary Myers was found guilty of failing to stop after her car struck Cecil Johnson a five year old in Houston. She was fined 500 dollars. The child died later. authorities said she delayed reporting to police to avoid her husband’s anger.

Prison guards foiled an attempt by a prisoner to steal ammunition from National Guard supplies at a Missouri facility. A trusty inmate sneaked into the ammunition room and was caught as he stuffed cartridges into his pockets, heightening fears of wider mutinous actions by state convicts.
