One hundred citizens are called for grand and petit jury service in Del Rio for the district court's spring session. Grand jurors include C. B. Freeman and Richard Schubert. first week petit jurors feature Joe Koog, Rafe Everett, Fred Hill, Francisco Cantu and many others. Third-week jurors listed include Dan De Laney, W. R. Edwards, Melvin Rowland, O. D. Finegan, Louis Brauer and more.
A 34 year old Mexican was released on $300 bond after being charged with smuggling. He was arrested at 2 a.m. after emerging from the Rio Grande with only a five gallon can of mescal and no shoes or hat. He offered no resistance as federal officers took him into custody.
Texas goat losses from a record cold rain over the weekend are estimated at about 25 percent of the goats statewide, threatening mohair production by as much as 2.5 million pounds and shrinking the kid crop. Officials cite heavy regional losses, with some areas reporting 60 to 70 percent, while others see lighter damage. Analysts forecast higher mohair prices and added value to surviving livestock, aided by improved sheep quality and future demand.
McDaniel Billings 46 died at 3 30 am Wednesday in a local hospital after three weeks of illness He had lived in Del Rio 13 years coming from Mason County He is survived by widow Maria Hand Billings three sons Lee Tom Jack two daughters Sidney Carter Emma Rutledge father M C Billings three brothers Otto Edgar Herman and three sisters Cora Walton Dora Light Lois Terrell and 11 grandchildren Funeral services set for Thursday at 4 pm at the Billings home behind Franks Hotel 106 East Martin Street.
Voters who relocate must transfer poll taxes to Val Verde County. Bring tax receipts to the tax collector’s office by Friday. The poll tax list will be revised Saturday and handed to the county election board. Notify the tax collector of any precinct residence changes to avoid later voting confusion.

Four sacks of mohair, each 350 to 375 pounds, were reported stolen from the Petersen warehouse in Spofford in a telephone tip to Sheriff A. E. Steinmetz. Officials could not yet confirm if the material is kid or goat hair and urged a sharp lookout for the missing cargo. Del Rio wool houses were alerted and police will screen mohair entering the city.
Four killings and numerous assaults marred a Kansas City election day. Gunmen roamed streets in cars armed with machine guns, killing a deputy sheriff and two bystanders and injuring a Black election worker amid a Democratic landslide. In Texas Lon Smith said the oil conservation law would be enforced with 20 new staffers after new legislation.
King Boris of Bulgaria awarded about 100 medals on his 40th birthday. The honors included three firemen and four janitors from government buildings among the recipients.
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Ratner Stool 48 wife of Max Stool were held at the Shelley parlors San Antonio with Rabbi Twamarkin and Rev. Kanter officiating. Interment followed at Agudas Achim Cemetery. She died Monday at home on Gunner Street after a two year illness and return from New York treatment. Survivors include her husband two children two sisters and one brother. A large Del Rio contingent attended services in San Antonio.

It lists April 1 for tax payer lists, June 4 and June 16 for primary filing deadlines, through November 6 for the general election, and January 8 and 15, 1935 for legislative and gubernatorial inaugurations.
Postmaster General Farley announced temporary contracts with commercial lines to carry air mail for three months will be let within three weeks after a conference with the President. Samuel and Martin Insull faced police efforts to return them to Chicago for grand larceny and embezzlement charges. Martin was stopped in Detroit during a Canada entry dispute and likely to be deported after Chicago proceedings. Samuel remained aboard a steamer near Istanbul heading toward a Romanian port with orders to prevent landing.
